Lots of new BABIES!!!

Lots of new babies - baby dairy goats, baby mini silky fainting goat, baby lamb, baby piglets, baby bunnies, and baby chicks!!! We have been very busy on the farm. Come out to the farm on a field trip or a party to see all the animals! The 3 parties we did here last Saturday LOVED seeing all the babies and feeding them bottles!

NEW PIGLETS!

Last night Patty was trying to make a nest with everything in sight! She just looked so uncomfortable. I woke up in the middle of the night to find 5 little piggies nursing on her. She and the babies were all snuggled up under the heat lamp and doing great. We are so excited to have new little piggies!

From what I hear from the kids and the parents, the campers had a great time and we worked hard to make it an experience to remember! Summer Farm Camp 2012 was a great success - exceeded my expectations! 2/3rds of the campers came for more than 1 week!
Thanks to all campers and parents for the positive comments about how much your children enjoyed it The kids really enjoyed spending time with the animals. Collecting eggs and learning about the incubator, making homemade bread and homemade butter, and the nature walk were also favorites. It was hard work keeping all the campers active but we really did have a good time. They learned a lot and asked lots and lots of questions.
Summer day camp at Whispering Hope Farm is a drop off camp for your children. I, Sonya Somerville and my daughter, are the responsible adults that are going to be around the children. We are the main ones who run all the events and parties at Whispering Hope Farm (previously known as HippityHopPartiesAndmore.com and then PonyAndBunnyParties.com). Parents, during the drop off day camp, you are always welcome to drop in and observe what we are doing. As you know with children they require 100% of our time and attention so we will not be able to talk or it will disrupt the camp and we will need the children’s attention so they can really experience the farm and the activities we have planned. We will be totally focused on the children. All I ask is that for the consideration of the other parents and the children, that you observe from a distance, not distract, and not join the group. Safety of the children is and always has been our number 1 priority. We are not a big scale farm and do not have big tractors or other dangerous farm equipment around.
We are in Gastonia an easy drive from Charlotte, Greenville, SC or Hickory.　
Ages: 5 – 12 years old　(if 13 or 14 year olds want to come they can) (older kids enjoyed camp just as much as the younger kids!)

**NEW** If all goes as planned we should have lots of baby dairy goats so we will be milking goats! We may use the milk to make some things to eat or make soap. Who knows we may make GOATS MILK FUDGE! We will do something with the milk.
*Start the day by feeding all the animals (it is fun)
*get the baby bunnies fed
*help feed the other baby animals we are expecting in the spring (possible goats, pigs, bunnies, chicks, sheep, and ducks!!)
*collect the eggs from the chickens
*check on the eggs in the incubator and learn how to candle the eggs
*spend time grooming the horses, bunnies, goats, and calves
*learn how to saddle up a horse then go riding
*learn how to care for the horses tack
*last year kids LOVED to walk the goat, sheep and cow on a leash
*swinging on the rope swings
*age appropriate crafts
*make soap
*make homemade butter
*make homemade bread
*planting their own garden that they take home with them at the end of the week
*trail walking through the woods
*collecting nature items to put in your own nature book while walking the trails
Activities are dependent on the weather and time permitting. We are not going to rush to get through all the activities but see what the campers want to do.
Farm campers will have crafts and other items they make to bring home with them.
Farm campers must bring a bagged lunch each day and several drinks.

Precious mini pot belly pigs available!

These Lil piggies are so precious. They are bottle fed, extremely friendly (will suck your fingers and LOVE attention), and they are crate trained while in the house! What more could you ask for? Lil girls are $195 and the Lil boys are $125. Available for adoption. Born December 29, 2012.

Piper the pig and the bunnies in the nursing home!

Piper the pig was dressed in her fashionable dress and diaper! She loved walking around the nursing home greeting everyone. Her favorite nurse friend ALWAYS gives her a banana and I think Piper remembers who she is each month. Ben the bunny was helping this lady keep warm. She thought he was so soft. The chicks also went to the nursing home also. The residents love to talk about their childhood on the farm!

Chicks and Ducks Available!

3 Ducks and 7 Silky Chicks available for $5 each! They make great pets. Yes we have had 13 ducks and chicks hatch out in the past week! Call me a HATCH-A-HOLIC. I do love to see those chicks and ducks hatching out. So exciting! Come on a field trip to the farm to see them.

Available bunnies

An English Angora 10 week old is the ONLY bunny rabbit that I have available. She is $75 and that includes food. English Angoras are very calm and sweet bunnies. They do not need to be brushed all the time. If you brush them too much you can make their hair very thin. Personally, I think that the english angoras are the cutest bunnies ever!

Bunny Party

Whispering Hope Farm did a bunny party yesterday for a 4 year old girl. Too cute! The bday girl thought the bunny was a stuffed animal! She really loved the bunnies and sat as still as can be for the whole hour!
